Admissions and Financial Aid Committee

Standing Charges:

 

The Committee shall represent the Senate in the University Admissions Council and inform the Senate of the Council's work.


Its members shall also be the Senate's nominees to the University Admissions Council, and the chair of the committee shall normally serve as chair of that Council.


The committee shall brief the Senate each fall on the current year's admissions results and financial aid commitments, and each spring on projections for the following year.

 

Additional Charges for AY 2023-24:

1.     Review and make recommendations on what, if any, policy changes may be needed regarding the impact of the change in the NCAA transfer rule.

2.     Monitor the use of centrally administered financial aid and consider how to increase funding for lower income students.

3.     Proactively stay involved with the administration on evaluating the impact of the Supreme Court’s ruling on race in college admissions and make recommendations for how to continue enrolling the most diverse student body possible.
