In addition to the new Self Service application, a new tool will alert you when critical security updates are available for your macOS device. Here's how it works:

When it is time to install a macOS security update, a prompt like the one pictured below will appear:

• The notification will display the new required macOS version, the remaining days until the update deadline, and the amount of deferrals you have remaining.
• Click Restart to begin the update.
• If it is not a convenient time, you can defer the update, but keep in mind that once the deadline has been reached, no deferrals will be allowed.
