Judge Daniel H. Weiss is currently the Regional Deputy Chief Immigration Judge for the mid-Atlantic, southeast, and central regions of the United States with supervisory responsibility for over 30 immigration courts. Prior to his appointment as Regional Deputy Chief, Judge Weiss served as Assistant Chief Immigration Judge for the Dallas and El Paso Immigration Courts and was first appointed as an Immigration Judge in Dallas by Attorney General Loretta Lynch in January 2016. Prior to taking the bench, Judge Weiss served in the Civil Rights Division, U.S. Department of Justice as a senior trial attorney prosecuting human trafficking matters throughout the U.S.
