Joseph M. Cox has a broad practice representing both individuals and companies in a wide range of litigation. His clients operate in a wide array of industries, including oil and gas, real estate, restaurants, retail, finance and commercial interests, for whom he handles disputes pertaining to commercial, shareholder derivative, theft of trade secrets, government investigations and enforcement matters, product liability and personal injury matters. He also has a substantial track record working with clients in disputes arising through partnerships, SPACs and joint ventures. Additionally, Mr. Cox works with clients dealing with non-compete issues, fraud and breach of contract matters, unfair debt collection practices, violations of the Fair Credit Reporting Act, ownership of stock options, guarantees and sequestration, repossession and destruction of collateral.
Mr. Cox served as a judge in the 160th Judicial District Court from 2002-2006, during which time he presided over close to 100 jury trials, 30 bench trials and thousands of hearings; in that time and since, he has compiled a long and illustrious record of pro bono and community service.
