Orrenius and Madeline Zavodny propose several ideas that would allow for the US immigration system to function more efficiently by bringing in essential workers and more sensibly allocating visas, reducing hiring bottlenecks, and lessening uncertainty and queuing for both immigrants and employers. Additional changes would free up labor among existing immigrants and reduce incentives for Central American asylum seekers to venture north.
