LaChelle Cunningham
College Access Programs
LaChelle Cunningham is director of College Access Programs in Simmons School of Education and Human Development. She has a dedicated passion for serving students and collaborating with the community to increase postsecondary options and college access for students from disadvantaged backgrounds. She is one of the pioneers of the Project Dental Awareness Program at Texas A&M University College of Dentistry, which is a program that continues to introduce high school students to dental careers and postsecondary options after high school.
Her career experiences have also allowed her to serve as director of UT Outreach, as well as being dean of college prep at Uplift Education. She received her doctorate in educational leadership from Dallas Baptist University, where she conducted asubgroup analysis of effective school practices and academic performance of Texas charter schools.
