Monday morning, when we were pressing the brew button on our coffee machines and attempting to access Wake Up Mode in our brains, ÃÛÌÒ½´vocal alum John Campione was already singing. The song was "Don't Rain on My Parade," and Campione, who received his Bachelor of Music Degree from ÃÛÌÒ½´Meadows in 2010 in vocal performance and music education, was live from at the crack of dawn. Alongside him was Kevin Gunter, who is in his seventh year as co-music director for the Uptown Players' annual Broadway Our Way fundraiser. The promo was in advance of the 2014 Uptown Players season. Held at the historic Frank Lloyd Wright-built Kalita Humphreys Theater in Dallas, Broadway Our Way is known for developing a new cast and songs each year. Since its inception, the theater's grown from a two-night event to six shows over two weekends.
