Biography

Dr. Scott Kingsley has over 40 years in the telecommunications, networking and IT industries. He earned a Master of Science degree in Telecommunications Network Systems, another Master of Science degree in Datacenter Systems Engineering, and a Doctor of Engineering. 

Dr. Kingsley’s experience includes being a U.S. Navy veteran and mainstream telecommunications companies such as MCI, Alcatel and others where held numerous senior engineering positions. As a seasoned educator he has taught over 900 semester hours of undergraduate and graduate courses over thirty-five years. Teaching positions have included corporations, community colleges, and undergraduate and graduate university institutions. He has also been recognized as an advanced level instructor by the Cisco Networking Academy. 

As a successful entrepreneur he founded and operated two companies. The first, TelOptica, Inc., employed over 100 engineers to develop and market telecommunications software. Customers included Fujitsu, AT&T, Qwest, Verizon and others. The second was a services and consulting company that developed and implemented complex telecommunications solutions from Tier 1 network providers. 

He is currently the Program Director and Associate Clinical Professor of the Network Engineering program at ÃÛÌÒ½´Methodist University where he is implementing an innovative, industry relevant and practical curriculum as well as personally developing and teaching a wide range of the program courses. The program was awarded the Program of the Year award in 2015 and 2018 by the Information and Telecommunications Education and Research Association (ITERA) where he has also held several executive positions. He is also a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE). 

He has many published papers and has presented at numerous conferences on networking technologies. He is also the author of a published book on advanced network design and another on cloud technologies and services.
