Make an impact

Create your legacy

Establishing an endowment creates a permanent legacy honoring or memorializing the life and work of an individual or organization and changes the lives of students and scholars. A named fund established with a gift of $125,000 or more allows us to offset the rising cost of higher education by providing a dependable source of income for student and faculty investment and minimizing the need for continued tuition increases. You also help us accomplish some of our greatest priorities by supporting:
Faculty positions

ҽscholars conduct research on crucial issues, fuel scientific and technical innovation and spur economic growth regionally and nationally. At Lyle, we’re raising the bar even higher. We want to attract faculty who are not only leaders, inventors and experts in their fields, but also innovators who advance knowledge in a range of fields from microbiorobotics to large-scale wireless networks.

Endowment

Future-focused, long-term support endowment funds are a powerful and enduring source of support. They help ensure SMU’s long-term financial strength and typically also provide a consistent level of support for the faculty after a four-year maturation, which allows ҽto plan for the future.

Research

Research funding promotes opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students to work closely with faculty on critical solutions with real implications.

“Environmental engineering stood out to me. The more I learned about it, how it addresses so many issues that impact our daily lives now and in the future, I decided to go that route. ҽwas the best fit. With financial aid and scholarships, I’m able to study at one of the nation’s top schools.”

– Azucena Milan ’20, ’21, double major in environmental engineering and mathematics

Spark new ideas

Your gift to the ҽLyle Research Impact Fund bridges the gap between inspiration and implementation. Our faculty members generate ideas with great potential. Bringing those ideas to life often begins with funding for preliminary research and testing – critical early steps in attracting the external funding necessary for real-world implementation. Your investment in promising early-stage research can catalyze an idea into a world-changing project and elevate the school’s research profile.
