Faculty on the Move
Klaus Desmet went to Universidad Carlos III in Madrid where he collaborated with three faculty members: Professors Ignacio Ortuño, Angel Cuevas and Rubén Cuevas (all three from Universidad Carlos. He also presented at the Webinar Series on Trade and Climate Change of the World Trade Organization (WTO) and gave an invited lecture at the X Doctoral Workshop at Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona.
Marcela Giraldo earned a specialization in Computational Social Science online through the University of California System.
Rocio Madera visited the CESifo in Munich as part of their junior visiting program during May. She gave a seminar at the Bank of Spain in June and also was invited to present in the first edition of their Conference on the Spanish Economy in July. She co-organized a workshop on “Income dynamics and the family” as part of the Barcelona School of Economics Summer Forum.
Dan Millimet was a Keynote speaker, 24th Annual Australia-New Zealand Labour Econometrics Workshop, held at U Wollongong.
Saltuk Ozerturk was Visiting Researcher at University of Carlos III Madrid, Spain.
Nate Pattison This summer, he presented new research on consumer bankruptcy at three national/international conferences: (1) Boulder Summer Conference in Consumer Financial Decision Making, Boulder, CO (2) North American Summer Meeting of the Econometric Society, Miami, FL and (3) International Association for Applied Econometrics Annual Conference, London, UK.
Santanu Roy presented a paper (virtually) at the Annual Conference of the Society for Advancement of Economic Theory, Sydney, Australia. He also participated in a workshop at the Centre for Development Economics, Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi, India. Presented paper. July 2022.
Tim Salmon presented at the International Meetings of the ESA at MIT - Boston, June and participated in the Social Dilemmas Workshop at MIT i- Boston, June. In his capacity as Editor of Economic Inquiry, he co-hosted sessions on reproducible research and journal data availability policies with Lars Vilhuber, data editor for AEA journals, at the WEAI Conference in Portland, Oregon.
Mike Sposi spent two weeks at Kobe University in Japan as a visiting professor teaching international macroeconomics, gave a seminar at Kobe University in Japan and gave a seminar at the Institute of Social and Economic Research at Osaka University in Japan. Following that, he presented a paper at the National Bureau of Economics Research, Summer Institute.
Carlos Zarazaga was a visiting scholar at University of California, Santa Barbara, under the auspices of the Laboratory for Aggregate Economics and Finance (LAEF), to work on research project with Marek Kapicka (CERGE-IE, Czech Republic) and Finn Kydland (UCSB) on the impact of confiscation fears on capital accumulation.
