Biography

An attorney and full-time instructor at SMU’s Cox School of Business, Professor Kincaid delivers MBA, BBA, and business minor law courses. She has received the Rotunda Outstanding Teaching Award, the Willis M. Tate Faculty Award, and sixteen Cox School Outstanding Instructor Awards. She served as a Visiting Professor of Law at Marie Curie Skladowska University in Poland, lectured to EMBA students at Budapest University of Economics and Technology, and taught at SMU-in-Oxford. She also teaches business law at SMU-in-Taos, is a group fitness instructor the Dedman Center, and serves as Faculty Advisor to the Cox School Women in Business.

Mrs. Kincaid is the Academic Advisor to the Texas General Counsel Forum DFW Board and served as Academic Director to its SMU-Cox Forum Institute for Leadership and Law from inception through the most recent offering. She is active within her church and a sustaining member of the Junior League of Dallas. A native of Kansas City, Mrs. Kincaid resides in Highland Park with her husband, Sam, a Cox School MBA/BBA graduate and Managing Director of Silver Raven Advisors, LLC. Their younger son, William, who holds a history degree from Hampden-Sydney and a Wake Forest Masters in Management, is a Senior Sales Associate with JP Morgan Chase in Dallas. Their older son, Thomas, a former ÃÛÌÒ½´student body president with ÃÛÌÒ½´history and finance degrees as well as a Duke University Masters of Divinity, is Vice Rector at the Church of the Incarnation in Dallas. Their daughter-in-law and Thomas’ wife, Elisabeth, who has degrees from Rice, University of Texas Law School, and Perkins School of Theology, is Ph. D candidate at Notre Dame. Barbara and Sam are proud grandparents of Mary Clare and young Sam.
