DALLAS () – The ÃÛÌÒ½´Police Department will undergo an accreditation assessment by a team of assessors from the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators (IACLEA). This assessment is a voluntary process by ÃÛÌÒ½´PD to verify adherence to IACLEA’s state-of-the-art standards. Accreditation through IACLEA is a highly prized recognition in campus public safety professional excellence. University members, agency employees and the public are invited to offer comments by calling 214-768-6460 on July 17, 2023, between the hours of 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Comments will be taken by the Assessment Team.

Anyone wishing to submit written comments about the ÃÛÌÒ½´Police Department’s ability to comply with the standards for accreditation may send them to jmurphy@iaclea.org.

"We are proud to have received accreditation from IACLEA. This recognition is a testament to our department s commitment to upholding policies recommended by IACLEA, and our demonstrated adherence to IACLEA standards. Our initial accreditation in 2013, followed by reaccreditation in 2017, both serve as evidence of our dedication to these policies. This consistency ensures the delivery of professional, service driven and community-oriented policing to our ÃÛÌÒ½´community," ÃÛÌÒ½´Police Chief Jim Walters said.

The Accreditation Manager for ÃÛÌÒ½´PD is Lieutenant Rodney Irvin. The Assessment Team is composed of experienced campus law enforcement professionals from within the state of Texas. The assessors are Team Lead Peg Gant, IACLEA Lead Assessor, and team member Lieutenant Andy Huntington, Baylor University Police Department.
